StarCraft was originally acclaimed as “WarCraft in space”. Not so. StarCraft offers its own individual flavor, and is very much necessary for understanding most of its sequel’s plot. Still, multiplayer can be extremely lag filled, especially over slow school wifi. [...] can also be annoying at times, with bugs, glitches and adverts, but that is to be expected of any over-the-net play. Overall, StarCraft is not to be dwarfed by its older brother.
I don’t need to say how great of a game Starcraft is, you know it is.
But, if you have Windows 7 be careful with this purchase. Windows 7, since the task bar can only be removed through disabling explorer, screws up the colors.
You may want to invest in the power needed to play Starcraft 2 if you’re using 7.
Protos Terran and Zergs back in to my life. There is no disappointment or feelings of obsolete game. At the first moment I start to play all the good memories came back. After all these years this game still is one of the best. No matter if you are a first time player or an old one like me. Really recommended.
I’m not going to try to write an actual review for this game. I’m sure it’s been done hundreds, if not thousands of times. But I will say this. Amazon says this game will work on a Mac or a PC, which is true, but only to an extent. On a Mac, you can play the full campaign and the multiplayer, but you can’t use the map editor. This is because while the game can run in OS X, the map editor was never updated from the Classic environment. The only fix I’ve heard about for this is just playing Starcraft on Windows on your Mac, by means of a virtual machine. Great game though.
I am not much on long reviews but this a great product for a great price that cannot be beat. You get the first SC and the expansion on the set. The grapjics maybe a little dated yet remember this game is almost 10 years old. I hihghly recoomend it.
