For years I have wished to replace Microsoft on my home PC with Linux. After trying all my usual tasks in Fedora (surfing the net, working on some OpenOffice documents, etc) I was very pleased and decided to go ahead with the full partitioning after backing up some important data files. I’ve been back and forth a few times. Recently I switched back to using Windows 7 for three months because I thought it must surely be fleshed out by now, and be at least as rock-solid as Fedora. I thought wrong. And I switched back to Ubuntu. Now everything works swimmingly, and I think my effort has been rewarded. My computer feels more secure with Fedora and it feels faster. Fedora will hopefully start very soon in gaining its rightful place as a good open source OS.
For about 2 years I favored Ubuntu. This time I moved to Fedora. I tried Fedora before but didn’t stay with it. It always was nice, but this time it is really awesome. It is very polished distro. I put it on my three PCs (two laptops and one desktop) and had zero troubles. I really like its very smooth installation.
I was pleasently surprised by this distro. From my brief experience with Linux, I have researched almost every OS available and I can tell you: Fedora is an outstanding OS! You’re going to get just _one_ Fedora, the world’s most exciting and innovative operating system. I like Fedora a lot and consider it the strongest and most stable linux distribution aimed at the server market. This latest version of Fedora is by far the most user friendly, as well as the easiest to install that I’ve ever had the pleasure to deal with. Each version just keeps getting better. It installed effortlessly on two computers, recognized everything and installed the proper drivers, and configuration is a piece of cake. It has the ease of use for beginners, but also comes with all the advanced stuff you’ll want to learn later on. All in all a great OS!
