    i couldnt do a google search without being redirected. i decided to buy mcafee, but a customer review (here at amazon) convinced me to try avg which id never heard of. after installation the software determined there were no threats. it also greatly slowed down my system. i tried to contact avg for additional help. it was available for $120!? i eventually read about free superantispyware. after my install it found 1057 threats! i then quickly uninstalled avg. thanks for nothing.

    I’ve used AVG for years, It’s the only brand that blocks all types of virus on my pc . I’ve tried others and they failed to protect my pc.

    I am recommending this to everyone I know who is looking into purchasing anti-virus software. This is a great price and you get two years of protection, compared to one for the others. This stuff does its business in the background; no annoying pop-up windows covering what I’m trying to do. At most I get an unobtrusive tiny little box at the bottom letting me know if something is happening, like a scheduled scan. I’ve had it for a few months now and I can do nothing but rave at how simple it was to install and how I don’t even know it’s there. I’ve had no problems since day one. This is the best I’ve used, and I’ve tried all major brands, and even my ISP’s own security suite, which was free. Get it.

    If you want to loose all you files and spend a lot of money to get your computer fixed buy this one, I had a subscription to AVG and when subscription expired and I didn’t renew, AVG froze all my files giving me a message I had a virus and giving me a screen to enter my credit card number to renew, I took the computer to a professional and he knew immediately what happened “AVG sabotaged your computer”, he uninstalled the AVG and the computer didn’t have any virus.

    I installed in a new XP pro SP3 computer. Like a previous reviewer stated: it told me the version was outdated and I should try downloading it from the AVG website instead. The website I was directed to downloaded a corrupted file. I tried more than one to download the file. Each time it was corrupted and I have an excellent DSL connection

    I decided to install the version on the CD. It may be working properly but I cannot active thus instead of an expiration date I have a “Not Activated” message. Not sure if it is working. No phone support. Have sent a email and expect it will be another of those frustrating email exchanges where the support end DOES NOT READ what I sent and I have to send multiple emails before and IF it is resolved.

    Not such a good deal
